A Carolina Girl Meets A Kansas Boy

Ashlyn and Matt both grew up playing soccer competitively. They each decided to go to Covenant College to play for the Scots. As freshmen soccer players, they knew of each other but were just acquantances. One of the yearly social events at Covenant was a Sadie Hawkins dance called “Kilter”. Their official first date was for “Kilter” at the Chattanooga Zoo. Their first photo together shows them dressed in animal prints for "Karnivore Kilter"! They were friends through college and grew closer once they were seniors and living just a couple of houses away from each other in off-campus housing. When Covenant shut down due to Covid, Ashlyn and Matt remained in their off campus housing and finished their college courses remotely. Covid shutdowns gave them opportunity to get to know each other with a small friend group that hung out during the pandemic. Covid wasn’t all bad!

Together they still enjoy sports- they’ve enjoyed playing on coed soccer teams. They enjoy hiking, cooking, traveling, adventuring, and drinking coffee. They both have a heart to follow Christ in their new family and enjoy all moments given to them.
